Job Title: Data Center Manager Location: Remote (US)
Contract Duration: Long Term
Number of Data Centers: 4 5 About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Manager to oversee operations across 4 5 data centers. This role involves coordinating with technical teams, managing migrations, decommissioning legacy infrastructure, and ensuring smooth data center transitions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with DC infrastructure, server migrations, connectivity, and change management processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage operations across multiple data centers remotely.
• Plan and execute rack evacuation and server decommissioning activities.
• Collaborate with internal IT, infrastructure, and change management teams to ensure smooth transitions.
• Oversee server migrations from one data center to another (A B) with minimal downtime.
• Identify, document, and handle legacy/old assets, ensuring proper migration or decommissioning.
• Work closely with on-site Physical Data Center engineers to execute physical movements and connectivity checks.
• Review and document data center infrastructure, including racks, cabling, power, and network topology.
• Identify and verify network ports, connectivity paths, and firewall rules related to migrations.
• Maintain accurate records of asset inventories, connections, and configurations.
• Ensure all work adheres to established change management processes and documentation standards.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience managing or coordinating multiple data centers.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including racks, servers, cabling, and power systems.
• Hands-on experience with server migrations, rack decommissioning, and asset management.
• Familiarity with network connectivity, port mapping, and firewall configurations.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with remote teams and on-site technicians.
• Experience working within change management frameworks (ITIL or similar preferred).
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to identify, assess, and manage legacy systems effectively.
