Data Center Technician

Hut 8 is seeking an on-site Data Center Technician I near Pecos to maintain computing and networking equipment, perform basic miner diagnostics and repairs, and help keep the facility safe, clean, and available.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine data center and general facility work under operations-management supervision.
• Apply a basic understanding of site operations and infrastructure while learning the installed network environment.
• Diagnose miners, make basic repairs, and use introductory mechanical skills and miner-service tools.
• Analyze operating data and flash firmware to support equipment uptime and turnaround times.
• Complete assigned maintenance and operations projects in indoor and outdoor areas of the site.

Qualifications and requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three or more years in IT or computer hardware, systems or electrical engineering, network administration, or troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of IP addressing, subnets, small electronics, or medium- to low-voltage electrical systems.
• Problem-solving ability, diligence, teamwork, adaptability, and willingness to learn; Bitcoin-mining experience and Spanish fluency are helpful.
• Ability to remain on your feet for more than seven hours daily, lift 30 to 50 pounds, and work in hot, cold, windy, and dirty conditions.
• Ability to pass a motor-vehicle check and provide reliable transportation to the Pecos-area work site.
