Data Centre Engineer & Hardware Support
Locations: Sterling, Virginia
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 ($33.33 - $38,46)
About the Role
We are hiring Connectivity & Hardware Support Engineers to join our clients team team, providing support for cabling infrastructure and network hardware at client.
Responsibilities include
• Installing Fiber & Copper Cabling
• Network and desktop equipment setup and support
• Patching, circuit provisioning, and break-fix services
• Rack and stack of servers and data center equipment
• Ensuring full connectivity and documentation
Work Schedule
• Monday to Friday on a rotating shift: 07:00 – 16:00 or 14:00 – 23:00
• Participation in out-of-hours and on-call work, including evenings and weekends
• Travel to multiple client sites within the region
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and manage tickets, ensuring SLA compliance
• Audit and document cabling and desktop setups
• Perform patching, disconnect/reconnect, and data wiping
• Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber infrastructure
• Terminate and install copper/fiber voice and data cabling
• Build, rack, and stack server/network equipment
• Replace network hardware components as required
• Maintain inventory and update stock records
• Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate documentation
Required Skills and Experience
• Background in voice and data cabling environments
• Experience with Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) work
• Practical experience with fiber and copper installations
• Familiarity with rack and stack of server hardware
• Proficient in using modern cabling test tools
• Understanding of LAN/WAN and network hardware
• Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar systems
