Principal, IT Operations & Infrastructure Engineer

Hut 8 is hiring an in-office IT Operations and Infrastructure Engineer at its Miami headquarters. The role owns reliable, secure infrastructure across servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services, identity systems, and internal support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, monitor, and administer server, network, endpoint, and cloud infrastructure for high availability and reliability.
• Perform system updates, patching, and backups and manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other core IT services.
• Implement cloud solutions, monitor utilization and cost, and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, incident, and service-request issues.
• Document infrastructure, configurations, and operating procedures and enforce IT security policies.
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments and lead infrastructure projects to schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with business teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into practical IT solutions.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Three to five years of IT infrastructure and operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, servers, networks, and endpoint or device management; Azure or Google Cloud experience is required.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux, ITSM tools such as Jira or ServiceNow, virtualization such as VMware or Hyper-V, and network technology such as Fortinet.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell or Python; Network+, Security+, or Azure Administrator certification is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, independent-work, and teamwork skills, plus ability to lift and move computers and peripherals.
